Lead I - Engineering Design

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and improve mechanical components, systems, and products. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative and cost-effective designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or AutoCAD. Prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and engineering documentation. Conduct design calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and feasibility studies. Perform design validation through simulations, testing, and prototype evaluations. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project teams to ensure successful product development. Support product lifecycle activities including design modifications, cost reduction, and quality improvements. Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications. Participate in design reviews and provide technical support during production and installation. Troubleshoot design-related issues and implement corrective actions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Experience in mechanical design and product development. Strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Inventor, or AutoCAD). Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, casting, welding, and injection molding. Familiarity with engineering calculations, material selection, and design standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with FEA/CFD tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or HyperWorks. Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems. Experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, consumer products, or heavy engineering domains. Certification in CAD or product design is an added advantage.
