.Core responsibilities-
•Diagnose complex functional and integration issues, identify root causes and recommend sustainable resolutions.
•Review and challenge critical functional designs and external recommendations, promoting standard SAP functionality, reuse and alignment with Finance core-model principles.
•Identify wider architectural implications and engage the Finance Architect when topics affect the overall landscape, end-to-end integration, data flows or architectural guardrails.
•Build and animate a community of practice that enables knowledge transfer, cross-product learning and consistent ways of working.
•Responsible for maintaining a specific pool of resources within the areas of expertise to support the different Products within the organization.
Delivery and operational responsibilities
•Provide hands-on expert support during complex discovery, design, implementation, testing, deployment, stabilization and problem resolution, without becoming a permanent Product Team resource.
•Provide functional quality assurance for high-impact changes by assessing process, data, control, configuration and integration consequences.
•Independently challenge work produced by AMS providers, system integrators and other external specialists and/or consultants.
•Convert implementation, incident and operational learning into reusable guidance, standards and capability-development actions.
•Raise systemic risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities that may affect product roadmaps or portfolio execution.
•Maintain accessible capability documentation and progressively increase expertise and autonomy across the Chapter.
Stakeholder and collaboration responsibilities
•Partner with the Finance Chapter Lead, Product Owners, Senior Product Owners, Product Analysts, Senior Product Analysts, Product Builders, architects, Business Partners and delivery teams.
•Support the Chapter Lead in translating Product Group needs into skills and capability-development priorities.
•Participate in business discussions only through or at the request of the Product Team, ensuring the Product Team remains the primary business interface.
•Collaborate with the Finance Architect and other Chapter Managers when topics cross capability or solution boundaries.
•Coach Chapter members and ensure critical expertis
Technical requirements
•Experience with Finance transformation, standardization, core-model or multi-entity initiatives.
•Knowledge of connected domains such as tax, treasury, statutory reporting, controlling, master data, financial controls, data governance or SaaS solutions.
•Experience defining standards, design principles, reusable patterns, communities of practice or capability frameworks.
•Familiarity with product-centric operating models, Agile ways of working and product-roadmap or portfolio discussions.
•Experience coaching specialists and operating effectively in a matrix and evolving organizational environment.
Additional responsibilities
•Deep expertise in relevant end-to-end Finance processes, business rules, controls and SAP Finance capabilities.
•Expertise across several SAP Finance process or solution areas and understanding of the wider Finance application landscape.
•Proven ability to translate complex business needs into viable solution options and assess functional design, configuration, data, control and integration implications.
•Ability to diagnose complex issues, distinguish justified requirements from unnecessary customization and recommend sustainable solutions.
•Strong understanding of SAP Finance integration with adjacent SAP and non-SAP solutions, core-model principles and solution reuse.
•Ability to review functional specifications, configuration proposals and integration designs and to challenge experienced external consultants credibly.
