About the job

We are looking for an Experienced Platform Engineer to provide technical leadership within our R&D organization.

In this role, you will design, develop, and improve cloud infrastructure and engineering capabilities supporting R&D platforms and internal applications. You will combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, helping the team make sound architectural decisions and operate complex systems effectively.

Our current technology landscape includes AWS, Azure, Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Terraform. We expect our tools to evolve and value engineers who can evaluate technologies pragmatically and apply durable engineering principles.

This position is ideal if you enjoy simplifying complex infrastructure, leading cross-system technical work, mentoring engineers, and influencing technical direction across teams.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Design and implement secure, reliable, and maintainable cloud infrastructure
Provide technical direction for infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, and automation
Guide the architecture and operation of shared AWS and Azure environments
Improve infrastructure delivery, validation, observability, and recovery practices
Lead complex infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technical investigations
Diagnose issues spanning cloud services, Kubernetes, networking, identity, and delivery systems
Evaluate technologies and guide pragmatic architecture and engineering decisions
Define and promote effective infrastructure engineering standards
Lead technical initiatives from discovery through implementation and operation
Balance roadmap improvements with maintenance and operational responsibilities
Collaborate with R&D application and platform teams, security, SRE, release engineering, and IT
Mentor engineers and provide constructive design and code reviews
Create clear architecture documentation, operational guidance, and technical proposals
Remain hands-on in implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support

Who You Are:

You combine strong technical judgment with a practical and collaborative approach. You can navigate ambiguity, identify the most important problems, and guide solutions without introducing unnecessary complexity. You communicate decisions clearly, build alignment across organizational boundaries, and help other engineers grow. You take responsibility for both technical outcomes and the long-term maintainability of systems.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Significant experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or distributed systems
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or comparable public cloud platforms
Strong experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, operations, upgrades, security, and troubleshooting
Experience designing and maintaining infrastructure automation and CI/CD systems
Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management, secrets, and security controls
Experience with observability and operational practices for shared systems
Ability to lead ambiguous, cross-team technical initiatives
Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and reviewing technical designs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional working proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure
Deep experience designing or operating Amazon EKS or Azure Kubernetes Service environments
Advanced Terraform experience, including reusable modules, remote state, dependency management, and recovery
Experience operating cloud infrastructure across multiple accounts or environments
Experience designing logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and incident-response capabilities
Experience with cloud security, disaster recovery, or cost management
Experience improving engineering workflows or shared infrastructure capabilities
Experience influencing technical strategy across multiple teams without direct authority
Experience balancing hands-on delivery with technical leadership

Our Culture & Commitment to You:

People-centered, outstanding workplace culture
Cohesive, supportive community
Stable, reliable corporate background
Competitive compensation
Diverse professional development and advancement opportunities
Cafeteria with many selectable elements
Additional non-wage compensation benefits
Opportunities supporting health preservation
