APQP Engineer - GB
A purpose driven role for you
The Lead APQP GB model is responsible for driving end-to-end product quality for GB models for Export markets. This role ensures that all global quality standards are strictly met to maintain brand reputation and competitiveness in the Global business landscape while balancing aggressive time-to-market targets with uncompromised durability and reliability.
This role proactively mitigates development risks by integrating Past Trouble Learnings (PTDB) into the design process and enforcing rigorous Export Quality gates. By orchestrating cross-functional alignment across R&D, Procurement, and Manufacturing, the APQP Lead ensures a flawless mass-production launch and superior customer reliability.
A Day in the life
Seeking a dedicated APQP Engineer GB to manage the end-to-end Advanced Product Quality Planning execution for export models, securing a competitive position in global markets. This role ensures program timing and quality deliverables by facilitating cross-functional teams to proactively eliminate early failure modes and integrate Past Trouble Learnings (PTDB) into new designs. Internal collaboration is crucial, partnering with CIT to align on premium cosmetic specifications, with Product Planning to translate global Voice of Customer (VOC) into measurable "Perceived Quality," with Procurement to track supplier milestones, and with Manufacturing to establish rigorous quality gates for New Product Launches. Externally, the position drives supplier robustness and quality at the source through Layered Process Audits (LPA), coordinates skill enhancement trainings and risk containment actions with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and partners with professional training institutions for team capability development. Ultimately, this role evaluates "Quality of Event" scorecards and drives final launch readiness to guarantee a "Zero KD" approach and zero-defect mass production.
Academic Qualification & Experience
BE/B.Tech (Mechanical or equivalent)
6-7 years in an automotive company in New product development role
Technical Skills/Knowledge
Exposure of Global Quality standards Core tools: FMEA, PPAP and SPC
Quality Auditing: Experience conducting process, product, and system audits (e.g., VDA 6.3, Layered Process Audits (LPA), or supplier quality assessment
Quality Software: Proficiency in statistical and PLM/QMS software such as Minitab, IQ-FMEA, Teamcenter, SAP, etc.
Floor Audits & Scorecards: Executing Layered Process Audits (LPA) Evaluating "Quality of Event" scorecards with NPD and R&D teams to gauge overall launch readiness.
