YOUR IMPACT

As a Technical Writer at Redwood, you'll create and maintain documentation for our Tidal product line, working closely with product, engineering, and UX/design to keep customer-facing documentation and in-product content accurate and consistent.

You bring solid technical writing skills and sound judgment on ambiguous product or design questions. You're curious about applying AI tools to your own workflow, and comfortable partnering with designers and senior writers on content strategy. You'll follow and contribute to documentation and content design standards set by the team, and make structural or strategic content calls as they arise, looping in your lead on cross-team tradeoffs.

Documentation Development

Write and maintain user guides, implementation documentation, developer content, and release notes for Tidal and Finance Automation, keeping pace with each release cycle.

Produce API documentation (e.g., using Swagger/OpenAPI) for developer-facing endpoints as needed.

Translate technical concepts — such as job scheduling and workload orchestration in Tidal, or financial close and reconciliation processes in Finance Automation — into content suited to administrators, developers, and business users.

Keep existing documentation current as products change, verifying accuracy directly with engineering and product owners.

Content Design Collaboration

Partner with UX/design on in-product content, UI text, tooltips, error messages, onboarding copy.

Apply established content design principles (structure, findability, consistency) to your own documentation work.

Identify and resolve content inconsistencies or gaps across docs and in-product text, looping in the team when a fix touches shared standards.

AI-Assisted Documentation

Use approved AI tools to assist with drafting, editing, and structuring documentation, always reviewing AI-assisted output for accuracy before publishing.

Identify and pilot opportunities to apply AI to documentation workflows, bringing outcomes back to the team.

Documentation Publishing & Operations

Publish and maintain documentation using the team's Git-based, docs-as-code workflow (Markdown, version control).

Maintain metadata, organization, and versioning of published docs according to team standards.

Update published content in response to product changes, customer feedback, and post-release review.

Team Collaboration

Use Jira and Confluence within established team workflows.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver content aligned to sprint/release cycles.

Communicate progress, blockers, and scope changes proactively so your lead can adjust priorities and timelines.

Collaborate with SMEs and product stakeholders to verify technical accuracy.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Required

Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

3-5 years of technical writing experience for software products, ideally in B2B SaaS.

Experience producing user guides, API documentation, and release notes in a fast-release (Agile/sprint-based) environment.

Experience using Jira and Confluence for project tracking and collaboration.

Experience with Git-based, docs-as-code workflows and lightweight markup (e.g., Markdown).

Experience applying AI tools to documentation work, whether from prior job experience or self-directed exploration.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

Familiarity with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI).

Experience partnering with UX/design teams on in-product content or microcopy.

Experience with workload automation, enterprise software, or cloud-based platforms.
