Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Consultant to help customers design, build, deploy and improve secure, reliable cloud platforms and solutions on Microsoft Azure.

You will work across the full consulting lifecycle, including discovery, assessment, solution design, implementation, testing, operational readiness and transition to support. You will guide customers through cloud adoption, cost optimization, migration, modernization and platform engineering initiatives, translating business and technical requirements into practical, supportable Azure solutions.

This is a senior individual contributor role combining hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership. You will influence technical decisions through your expertise and collaborative approach, while taking accountability for delivering successful customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of technical workstreams from discovery and design through implementation, deployment, validation, and handover, coordinating teams, dependencies and delivery milestones.
Lead customer workshops to understand business objectives , technical requirements, constraints and existing environments.
Design and present secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective Azure solutions, documenting architectural decisions, assumptions, risks, dependencies and trade-offs.
Advise customers on cloud adoption, migration, modernization, platform engineering, governance and operational excellence.
Design, implement, and evolve Azure Landing Zones aligned with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) guidance and enterprise governance requirements.
Design and implement Azure solutions across IaaS, PaaS, container-based and serverless architectures.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) solutions using Terraform and/or Azure Bicep, ensuring repeatability, consistency and compliance.
Design and improve CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps or equivalent platforms, incorporating source control, automated testing, security scanning, approvals and deployment controls.
Design and implement secure Azure solutions aligned with customer security requirements, identity and access management policies, compliance obligations, and Microsoft security best practices.
Support cloud-native application platforms using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), containers and modern application deployment patterns.
Embed operational readiness, observability, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, rollback strategies and supportability into solution designs and implementations.
Perform architecture reviews, design governance, and technical assurance activities to ensure alignment with customer standards and best practices.
Support incident investigations, root-cause analysis and continuous service improvement initiatives.
Contribute to customer proposals, solution estimates, technical presentations and pre-sales engagements.
Mentor and support consultants and engineers through knowledge sharing, design reviews, technical coaching and collaborative delivery practices.
Apply approved AI tools where appropriate to support engineering and delivery activities, ensuring outputs are properly validated , sensitive information is protected and accountability for technical decisions and outcomes is maintained .

Knowledge

Enterprise cloud architecture principles, including Azure Landing Zones, Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), Azure governance models, and the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
Cloud-native architecture concepts, including containers, Kubernetes, and microservices, and the considerations involved in adopting them for customer workloads.
The trade-offs involved in cloud solution design, including security, governance, connectivity, availability, resilience, performance, scalability, cost, and operability.
Azure platform and workload patterns and how to assess their suitability for different customer requirements.
Modern engineering principles, including automation, repeatability, secure delivery, testing, observability and operational resilience.
Responsible Principles for the secure and effective use of AI in engineering, including appropriate data handling, contextual grounding, validation of AI-generated outputs, and human review.

Experience

Significant hands-on experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting solutions on Microsoft Azure.
Experience designing or supporting cloud-native solutions using containers, Kubernetes (including Azure Kubernetes Service) and microservices architectures.
Practical experience delivering Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Azure Bicep and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or a comparable platform.
Experience architecting and evolving enterprise Azure platforms using landing-zone principles, with a focus on secure connectivity, governance, resilience and operational sustainability.
Track record of leading technical discovery and customer discussions, translating requirements into documented solution designs.
Ability to document architecture, explain design decisions and trade-offs and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Demonstrated ownership of technical workstreams through implementation, validation, deployment, and handover.
Understanding of operational readiness, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery requirements as part of solution delivery.

Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications are highly desirable, including:
