Amazon is seeking a Foreign Tax Senior Analyst to join its Direct Tax Reporting team in Hyderabad, India. The Amazon tax department is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment. This position will be responsible for supporting all facets of the foreign reporting team, including process simplification, coordinating with various stakeholders and generating reports for manager review. This position will also provide support on multiple process simplification projects.

Key job responsibilities

Strong understanding of ASC 740, current / deferred taxes, GAAP to STAT / STAT to TAX adjustments, effective tax rate reconciliation, foreign local quarterly and annual tax provision calculation;

Develop, implement, and document standard procedures for tax compliance and reporting processes;

Work with various stakeholders to understand their process pain points and remediate them;

Deliver concise analysis and corresponding narratives to key stakeholders related to proposed solutions;

Work with the Tax Technology team to develop automated solutions and assist with testing and implementation;

Conduct root cause analysis, initiate proposals, and execute against large improvement projects through incremental improvement; and

Prepare training documentation and conduct training sessions with globally-based Foreign Tax Reporting and Compliance groups.

Basic qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field

Minimum 4 years of experience in tax at a Big 4 / public accounting firm or a multinational corporation (MNC)

Demonstrated experience applying Generative AI tools to automate or optimize tax or finance workflows (e.g., automating data extraction, building calculation templates, designing process automation prompts)

Minimum 4 years’ experience in accounting for income taxes under US GAAP, IFRS, or similar accounting rules

Preferred qualifications

Certification as CA/CPA preferred

Must be technically proficient and have strong accounting, analytical, financial modeling and research skills

Self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks and independently define, implement, and manage creation of new processes

Experience with Corptax, Oracle, SQL, and/or Python

Strong computer skills including MS Office

Strong income tax operational experience including and preparation of income tax compliance and reporting obligations

Strong project management and organization skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced and dynamic environment
