About Position:

We are looking for a highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Developer with strong expertise in Oracle to PostgreSQL database migration and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database schema conversion, SQL and PL/SQL migration, performance optimization, and development of scalable PostgreSQL solutions. You will work closely with application development teams, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver successful migration projects while ensuring database performance, reliability, and scalability.

What You'll Do:

Lead and support Oracle to PostgreSQL database migration and modernization projects.

Analyze existing Oracle database environments and define migration strategies, best practices, and implementation roadmaps.

Convert Oracle database objects including schemas, tables, views, functions, procedures, triggers, packages, and sequences into PostgreSQL equivalents.

Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, DDL scripts, and database structures.

Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, PostgreSQL functions, procedures, and stored programs.

Convert PL/SQL code and business logic into PostgreSQL-compatible solutions.

Analyze database workloads and improve performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and tuning techniques.

Develop new database functionalities and enhancements based on business requirements.

Troubleshoot database issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.

Collaborate with application developers and cross-functional teams during migration and application modernization initiatives.

Ensure adherence to database development standards, security policies, and industry best practices.

Support testing, validation, deployment, and post-migration stabilization activities.

Prepare technical documentation, migration plans, and database design specifications.

Expertise You'll Bring:

6-10 years of experience in Database Development and Database Modernization projects.

Strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL Database Development and Administration concepts.

Proven experience delivering Oracle to PostgreSQL migration projects.

Strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL Functions, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Views.

Experience converting Oracle schemas, database objects, and business logic into PostgreSQL environments.

Strong knowledge of Schema Design, DDL Development, Data Modeling, and Database Architecture.

Expertise in Query Optimization, Indexing Strategies, Performance Tuning, and Database Troubleshooting.

Experience using database migration methodologies, tools, and migration best practices.

Hands-on experience in resolving complex database performance and scalability challenges.

Understanding of transaction management, database security, backup, and recovery concepts.

Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.

Exposure to Data Migration, Data Warehousing, and ETL processes.

Knowledge of modern cloud database platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
