Background of the Initiative:

Sun Pharma CSR implements a wide range of infrastructure and community development initiatives including healthcare facilities, educational infrastructure, water and sanitation assets, community buildings and rural development projects. The organisation seeks an engineering professional to provide technical oversight, quality assurance and project governance across all CSR construction projects nationwide

Position Overview:

The Engineer – CSR Projects will be responsible for planning, monitoring, quality assurance, procurement coordination, technical verification, payment facilitation and reporting for all CSR construction and infrastructure projects. The role will ensure that projects are executed within approved budgets, timelines and quality standards while creating sustainable community assets.

Project Planning & Technical Assessment:

Review project proposals and assess technical feasibility.

Prepare, review and validate BOQs, cost estimates, drawings and specifications. Standardise BOQ templates, Engineering SOPs, QA/QC protocol

Support budgeting, project planning and implementation scheduling.

Recommend cost-effective and sustainable engineering solutions.

Construction Monitoring & Site Supervision:

Conduct regular site visits across India.

Track project progress against timelines and milestones.

Monitor contractor performance and implementation quality.

Identify risks and recommend corrective actions.

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance:

Verify quality of materials and workmanship.

Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety norms and approved designs.

Conduct technical audits and quality inspections.

Maintain quality control documentation.

Climate resilient. Green building practice wherever possible and is cost effective

Measurement, Verification & Certification:

Verify executed quantities against approved BOQs.

Review contractor bills and work completion claims.

Certify stage-wise progress and milestone completion.

Conduct final verification before asset handover.

Documentation, MIS & Reporting:

Prepare site reports, progress reports and technical reviews.

Develop project completion reports and closure documentation.

Maintain drawings, approvals, photographs and technical records.

Support management reviews and audits.

Technical risk register and mitigation planning

Procurement & Payment Coordination:

Prepare Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for approved requirements.

Coordinate with Procurement teams for timely issuance of Purchase Orders (POs).

Track procurement status and prevent implementation delays.

Facilitate vendor and contractor payment release as per PO terms, contracts and milestones.

Verify invoices, supporting documents and work certifications before payment processing.

Maintain complete procurement and payment records for audit compliance.

Ensure Quality engineering (quality vs cost)

Stakeholder Management & Asset Handover:

Coordinate with NGOs, implementing agencies, consultants, contractors and government stakeholders.

Provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical appraisal of NGOs and vendor as required.

Support asset handover, maintenance planning and sustainability measures.

Provide technical inputs for impact assessments and evaluations.

Conduct post-handover performance audit

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)

Specific Certification

NA

Experience

10- 15 years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure development, engineering supervision or project management.

AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, GIS familiarity

Experience in healthcare, education, WASH, rural infrastructure or CSR projects preferred.

Experience managing projects across multiple locations

Zero project delays attributable to procurement coordination.

Zero audit observations related to procurement, invoices, payments or technical documentation.

Accurate and timely submission of progress reports, MIS reports and completion reports.

Complete and audit-ready records of PRs, POs, contracts, invoices and certifications.
