Mainframe Architect

Define and design enterprise Mainframe architecture and solutions.

Lead Mainframe application modernization, migration, and transformation initiatives.

Provide technical leadership for COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and VSAM-based applications.

Review architecture, application design, and development standards.

Drive performance tuning, scalability, and system optimization activities.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and propose technology solutions.

Lead technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural governance.

Support application integration with distributed systems, APIs, and cloud platforms.

Ensure security, compliance, high availability, and disaster recovery standards.

Mentor development and support teams on Mainframe best practices.

Manage production support escalations and critical issue resolution.

Prepare architecture documents, technical roadmaps, and solution blueprints.

Minimum Qualifications

9 to 15 years of experience in Mainframe technologies.

Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.

Experience in application architecture, design, and solution development.

Strong understanding of Mainframe infrastructure and batch processing environments.

Experience with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and architecture frameworks.

Proven experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Experience leading technical teams and architect-level engagements.
