Shape Enterprise Construction Data Architecture as a Product Manager – Common Data Environment (CDE)

Are you a systems-and-customer thinker who excels at turning complex data integration layers into seamless, intuitive user experiences? Trimble is seeking a technically fluent Senior Product Manager to own how enterprise customers bring their data into Trimble Connect —and how they experience, structure, and govern that data once it arrives. As construction data multiplies across global tools and project teams, you will play a central role in driving the platform that connects the right people to the right data at the right time.

Our Product Ecosystem: Trimble Connect is our central Common Data Environment (CDE) and cloud collaboration platform. It breaks down data silos across the entire Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AECO) lifecycle, enabling informed decision-making and open project collaboration.

What Makes This Role Great:

In this high-impact position, you will own Connect's data-experience and CDE data domain end-to-end. You will partner directly with senior engineering leaders who build deep technical layers, weighing architectural trade-offs where product strategy and platform architecture intersect. You will have full ownership over building application-layer AI capabilities—such as AI-assisted metadata, automated classification, and smart import mapping—while acting as an industry thought leader representing Trimble across globally distributed customer networks.

Key Exciting Responsibilities

Product Definition & Strategic Roadmap: Transform a fragmented set of data capabilities and integrations into a coherent, highly differentiated product narrative tied directly to Trimble Connect's global growth strategy.

AI-Forward Data Experience: Design and deploy modern application-layer AI features within the data experience, including AI-assisted metadata generation, automated file classification, and smart import mapping.

Technical & Architectural Leadership: Partner closely with senior engineering leaders on platform requirements, leveraging deep technical fluency to weigh architecture trade-offs across data models, authorization frameworks, and APIs.

Customer Engagement & Market Insights: Conduct direct strategic discovery with key users and C-level customer executives to uncover actionable operational insights and validate platform capabilities.

Product Evangelism & Thought Leadership: Represent Trimble Connect as an industry thought leader at major forums, elevating our market credibility across the global construction ecosystem.

Cross-Functional Influence: Lead and align cross-functional, globally distributed teams, translating complex data analysis and business goals into clear, executable product milestones.

Essential Skills & Experience

Product Management Track Record: 5+ years of direct experience operating as a platform Product Manager with a referenceable history of delivering impactful B2B software products.

Technical & Architectural Fluency: High technical literacy with the ability to discuss complex system trade-offs alongside senior engineers—including comfort with enterprise data models, APIs, SaaS mechanics, and tiered authorization protocols.

Systems & Customer Thinking: Exceptional ability to conceptualize complex software ecosystems and synthesize fragmented integrations into a unified, user-friendly platform experience.

Stakeholder Influence & Communication: Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline).

Bonus Points For:

Construction Tech Domain Expertise: Direct experience within construction technology or a closely adjacent enterprise B2B software domain.

CDE & AEC Product Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE), collaboration tools, or spatial/BIM data management products in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.

AI Integration: Hands-on experience defining or launching AI/ML-assisted features within enterprise SaaS platforms.
