Lead I - ML Engineering

Primary Skills: AI - SciKit/Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Enrollment & Billing, Java Fullstack, Member Billing, Oracle-ORMB Description: JOB POSITION Strong hands-on engineer who combines applied AI/ML expertise (SciKit-learn, Deep Learning, Computer Vision) with Java Fullstack development and deep Enrollment & Billing / Member Billing domain knowledge on Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB). Should be able to design, build and productionize ML models and intelligent automation that improve billing accuracy, enrollment processing and document/image handling, while also delivering and supporting ORMB configuration, Java microservices and modern UI components. Should have very strong logical, analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions, raise risks or issues on deliverables in time, and communicate/collaborate effectively with onshore/offshore stakeholders (including Elevance Health vendors) to ensure quality delivery as per commitment. JOB RESPONSIBILITY AI/ML Fullstack Engineer, will be responsible for the following: Must Have: 5 to 8 years of overall IT experience with 3+ years of hands-on Machine Learning / Deep Learning development using Python, SciKit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, Pandas and NumPy. Hands-on experience in Computer Vision (OpenCV, CNNs, OCR / document image processing) for use cases such as enrollment form and billing document extraction. Strong Java Fullstack experience - Java 8+/11+, Spring Boot, REST microservices, Hibernate/JPA, and front-end frameworks such as Angular or React. Working knowledge of Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB) - Customer, Account, Billing, Payments, Rating and Pricing configuration, Algorithms, Batch jobs and Plug-in scripts. Strong understanding of healthcare Enrollment & Billing and Member Billing processes (group/individual enrollment, premium billing, invoicing, payments, adjustments, delinquency, reconciliation). Ability to understand technical and functional requirements and translate them into ML models, APIs and ORMB/Java solutions. Strong SQL and Oracle database skills for data extraction, feature engineering and validation. Experience with the end-to-end ML lifecycle - data preparation, model training, evaluation, deployment (REST/batch), monitoring and retraining. Follow coding, model governance and testing standards; ensure quality of deliverables through code and design reviews. Resolve technical issues/errors during development, batch execution and production support. Work independently with minimal guidance and always deliver within the committed timelines. Should be able to scale up and learn new functions, tools and platforms in the team. Communicate/Collaborate with onshore/offshore team members with respect to deliverables and be able to articulate his/her work/project. Should be able to take responsibility as POC of a team and mentor other associates. Soft skills to gel with the team and participate in all team activities and team building. Attend and discuss daily work/impediments in daily SCRUM calls. Flexible extending work hours as per project demand (sometimes during weekends). Nice to Have: Experience deploying ML models on cloud platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML or GCP Vertex AI) and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes. Exposure to Generative AI / LLMs, NLP and MLOps tooling (MLflow, Airflow, Kubeflow). Experience with ORMB Java/Groovy customization (Business Services, BPA scripts, Zones, Portals) and ORMB integrations via Web Services/API. Experience with ETL tools, Control-M or similar schedulers, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket). Working experience in US healthcare payer domain (ASO/Fully Insured, Medicare/Medicaid) is a plus.
