Java Developer (Java, Spring Boot, SQL) - 6 to 10yrs -Bangalore

About the Team

: FIS Event Broker (EB) is an enterprise platform responsible for Kafka-based event processing and event delivery within and outside FIS. The platform consists of Java-based applications supporting event transformation, delivery, retry, alerting, and integration with downstream endpoints. The Australia implementation supports CBA MeMo and includes production deployment and operational support.

What you will be doing

This position is a replacement for Sharma, Ajay and will primarily support the Australia deployment of Event Broker for CBA.

Responsibilities will include Java development and enhancements, supporting Kafka-based event flows, troubleshooting event-delivery failures, maintaining retry and webhook components, production deployments, and post-deployment/production support.

The role will also require investigation of connectivity and downstream endpoint issues and coordination with relevant support teams.

What you bring :

- Java (Java 8, Java 21)

Spring Framework, Spring Boot

SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server etc.)

Elasticsearch

Shell/Bash scripting

Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.

Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.

Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.

Hands-on experience with: - Git

Bitbucket

Jira

Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.

Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.

Nice to have skills/knowledge.

Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.

Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, or Grafana.
