Head – Project Management

BU: L&T- EPS – Power Electronics & BESS

Location: Bangalore

The Head of Project Management is responsible for leading the organization's Project Management Office (PMO) and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. This role establishes project management standards, drives governance, optimizes resource utilization, manages multiple project portfolios, and ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic planning capabilities .

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement the organization's project management strategy.
Establish and continuously improve project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and best practices.
Align project execution with business objectives and strategic priorities.
Lead portfolio planning and prioritization .

Project Portfolio Management

Oversee multiple programs and projects across business functions.
Monitor project performance, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure projects achieve defined business outcomes and benefits.

Team Leadership

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing project management team.
Develop competency frameworks and training programs.
Conduct performance reviews and succession planning.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement .

Stakeholder Management

Partner with executive leadership to define project priorities.
Provide regular project portfolio updates to senior management.
Manage relationships with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Resolve escalated project issues and conflicts.

Governance & Compliance

Establish project governance standards and reporting mechanisms.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Conduct project audits and lessons-learned reviews.
Drive continuous process improvement initiatives.

Financial Management

Manage project budgets and forecasting.
Optimize project resource utilization.
Track financial performance and project ROI.
Support business case development for strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
20+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership
