Job Overview

Qualcomm's Multimedia System Performance team is responsible for system-level performance validation, analysis, and optimization across compute and mobile SoCs. The Engineer will work on pre-silicon and post-silicon platforms to validate multimedia use cases, analyze system performance metrics, debug bottlenecks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Perform system-level performance validation and analysis on pre-silicon (RUMI, emulation, simulation) and post-silicon platforms.

Develop and execute multimedia and system-level performance workloads, test vectors, and concurrency use cases.

Collect, analyze, and debug performance metrics including bandwidth, latency, throughput, and QoS indicators.

Investigate performance bottlenecks across multimedia IPs, SMMU, cache, NoC, memory controller, DDR, power, and software domains.

Collaborate with Architecture, Design, DV, Software, Power, and Multimedia teams to drive issue resolution and performance optimization.

Contribute to automation, performance sign-off activities, technical reviews, and project deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's/Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

1-2 years of experience in embedded systems, SoC validation, system performance, or a related domain.

Strong analytical and system-level debugging skills.

Good programming skills in C and familiarity with Python/Shell scripting.

Understanding of Linux/Android OS fundamentals, scheduling, memory management, and kernel concepts.

Basic understanding of SoC architecture, memory hierarchy, interconnects (NoC), and performance analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with pre-silicon platforms such as RUMI, emulation, FPGA, or simulation environments.

Exposure to multimedia subsystems including Display, Video, Camera, or Graphics.

Familiarity with performance profiling tools, counters, traces, and workload analysis.

Experience debugging system-level performance issues in mobile or compute SoCs.

Level of Responsibility

Works under general supervision to execute assigned validation and debugging tasks.

Independently analyzes performance issues and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive resolution.

Contributes to project execution, documentation, and performance sign-off activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
