Who will you be working with?

The Electrical Integration Engineering team is responsible for integrating a vast array of electrical devices and electrical subsystems that enable our locomotive products to function properly. They design the cables, cable packaging, and harnesses required to integrate high and low voltage power systems & devices as well as control and communications equipment. They also have ownership of our locomotive electrical schematic which documents the complete locomotive electrical system design. In addition, the team works in close collaboration with the manufacturing teams and/or suppliers that build our cables and harnesses as well as supports the assembly of our complete locomotive product.

How will you make a difference?

As the manager of the Electrical Integration Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a talented group of engineers to deliver electrical integration solutions and designs for our Wabtec locomotive products. You will be required to ensure that the team is working collaboratively with multiple teams across the globe including engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and suppliers while adhering to the Wabtec engineering design processes and staying aligned to challenging schedules and deadlines. In the role you will also shape the strategy, tools, and processes required to deliver efficiency, standardization, and contemporary designs while also embracing new technologies to drive better outcomes.

What do we want to know about you?

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university with a preference for Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum of 15 years of experience in an Engineering/Technology organization with a strong background in the execution & delivery of complex projects, preferably in the locomotive domain, with a focus on process and cross functional collaboration.

Minimum of 5 Years of experience in the electrical integration/locomotive domain including schematic development, harness design, cable packaging, product integration, and application of associated standards.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Great Team player with the ability to motivate, energize and influence a global team. Should be capable of driving One Team Culture across a Global team.

Familiarity with electrical integration software solutions such as Zuken, Siemens Capital, or similar.

Demonstrated project management & planning experience; highly organized

Analytical Leader with the ability to perform detailed analysis and make data driven decisions and/or changes.

Change agent with demonstrated ability to proactively drive change or adapt to it.

Technical & Engineering Leadership Provide technical and people leadership to the global Electrical Integration Engineering teamContinuous engagement & alignment with projects & associated technical details to support the team through challenges or to solve complex problems.Lead efforts to identify and embrace new or contemporary technologies including electrical integration components, tools, and methods.Provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders at all levels of the organization as they relate to technical details, schedule challenges, risks, and associated mitigations.Ensure adherence to company, industry, and international engineering standards and best practices.Drive prompt decision making & prioritization based on business needs arising from end customers Operational Excellence Partner with cross disciplinary engineering leaders to develop integrated project plans to deliver comprehensive designs as one team while identifying risks and related mitigations throughout execution. This requires the development of detailed work breakdown structures, the identification of interdependencies between teams, and alignment of key milestones.Partner with manufacturing and sourcing stakeholders to identify and implement opportunities that yield efficiency and/or optimization within the supply chain.Develop robust hours and budget estimates to support proposal or NPI activities based on scope and requirements. Work with engineering program managers to align those estimates with detailed project plans to provide clear visibility to team capacity versus demand.Monitor actual spending versus budget, determine root cause for variance, and apply learnings on future programs.· Collaborate closely with systems engineering, program management, technology leaders, and downstream operations to ensure successful program execution.Demonstrate urgency and accountability to meet project schedules, with quality, and high first-pass-yield designs. Mentorship & People Leadership Lead employee performance management through goal setting, regular coaching, timely feedback, and development planning.Conduct performance reviews and participate in compensation and succession planning.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, accountability, curiosity, recognition, and continuous learning.Mentor employees and junior colleagues to help them grow technically, professionally, and personally.
