Developer I - Embedded Software

Location Bangalore, India Client Infineon Technologies Experience 0-2 Years Domain Embedded Software Development, Microcontrollers, RTOS, Wireless Connectivity Openings 1 position Job Summary We are looking for a motivated Embedded Software Developer to join Infineon's embedded software team. This role is ideal for recent graduates and early-career engineers who are passionate about embedded systems and eager to build expertise in firmware development, software integration, debugging, validation, and wireless connectivity technologies. The engineer will work alongside experienced developers to design, integrate, test, and validate embedded software solutions running on modern microcontroller platforms. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain embedded software applications using C and C++. • Develop scripts and test tools using Python for automation, tooling, log processing, and validation support. • Perform software integration, verification, and validation activities on embedded targets. • Debug software and hardware issues using development kits, debuggers, analyzers, and lab equipment. • Implement and validate communication interfaces and common embedded protocols. • Collaborate with hardware, system, firmware, and test engineers across the product lifecycle. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to software quality improvements. • Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented features, test results, and debugging observations. • Support root-cause analysis and issue resolution during development and integration phases. Required Technical Skills Mandatory • Strong programming knowledge in C and C++. • Basic scripting knowledge in Python for automation or tooling. • Familiarity with RTOS concepts, preferably FreeRTOS. • Hands-on exposure to microcontrollers, development boards, or embedded targets. • Understanding of debugging basics, software integration, and working with development kits. • Knowledge of common communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, and UART. • Basic understanding of version control, preferably Git. • Good embedded software fundamentals from coursework, internships, projects, thesis work, or personal embedded projects. Preferred Skills • Basic awareness of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Ultra-Wideband (UWB), or Near Field Communication (NFC). • Exposure to RTOS concepts or embedded Linux. • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, soldering stations, or similar lab equipment. • Exposure to ARM-based microcontrollers or similar embedded platforms. Educational Qualification • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
