The team
The Integrated Program Management Office (PMO) supports governance, performance assurance, risk management and executive reporting, covering mining, tailings, thermal power, smelter expansion and cobalt projects. The team works closely with management, project teams, EPC/EPCM contractors, OEMs and consultants to enable timely, informed decisions and disciplined execution.
Your work profile
As the Site Lead for the Integrated PMO, you will act as the on-ground leader and primary interface between management, project teams, contractors, consultants, OEMs and PMO team.
Lead deployment and operation of the Integrated PMO across assigned projects, including governance mechanisms, review cadence, stakeholder communication protocols and escalation frameworks.
Facilitate weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly review forums with project leadership and executive management.
Provide independent assessment of project performance and ensure timely escalation of critical schedule, cost, productivity, procurement, commissioning and interface issues.
Review and challenge project schedules, assumptions, resource plans and recovery strategies; oversee integrated schedules in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
Monitor milestones, critical paths, float erosion and schedule risks; lead deep-dive assessments of delayed activities and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor budgets, forecasts, trends, contingencies and change management processes; oversee variation orders, claims and emerging commercial risks.
Lead project risk workshops and maintain integrated risk registers; review contractor productivity, manpower deployment, equipment utilisation and work-front availability.
Monitor long-lead equipment and critical packages across manufacturing, inspection, logistics, delivery and installation readiness; support management of key vendor risks.
Develop executive dashboards, MIS reports, S-curves and portfolio-level reporting, and coordinate with project directors, OEMs, contractors, consultants and operational teams.
Track commissioning preparedness, punch-list closure, approvals, documentation, operational readiness, handover planning and closeout governance.
Key skills required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mining, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial or a related discipline.
Master’s degree in project management, Construction Management, Engineering Management, MBA or equivalent is preferred; PMP or equivalent certification is desirable.
Experience in mining, metals, smelter, power generation, large process plants, oil and gas, heavy industrial projects or mega-capex programs is preferred. Experience in Africa or remote project locations is highly desirable.
Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project; project controls, planning, scheduling and forecasting.
Strong understanding of the project lifecycle from concept through commissioning, handover and closeout.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate effectively in remote project environments and multicultural teams.
