Overview

As a Consultant – Controls and Information Systems, you will co-lead the development and implementation of global controls engineering standards, applications and tools that improve plant performance, reduce operational losses and strengthen product quality. You will support the rollout of plant controls infrastructure and provide virtual technical consulting to manufacturing sites globally. Working with engineering, technology and cross-functional teams, you will solve complex controls and systems challenges, improve productivity and optimize manufacturing costs. The Shift timings for this role is 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM

Key Accountabilities

Business Results – 80%

Drive productivity, system utilization and cost improvement through the effective use of controls and automation technologies.
Develop and deploy global controls and systems solutions using platforms such as AVEVA System Platform, Wonderware ArchestrA, Siemens, Ignition and Rockwell.
Identify, pilot and scale emerging controls, operational technology and digital manufacturing solutions.
Partner with original equipment manufacturers and system integrators to implement innovative solutions.
Lead technical root-cause analysis, controls troubleshooting, diagnostic tool development, documentation and training.
Support controls architecture, infrastructure reliability, system performance and obsolescence planning.
Develop solutions for recurring plant issues, disaster recovery and long-term controls and systems improvement.
Serve as a subject-matter expert and collaborate with Research and Development, Process Technology and Systems Engineering teams.

Leadership, Development and Community Contribution – 20%

Work effectively with global, cross-cultural and virtual teams while coaching and mentoring engineers.
Share technical standards and best practices across the Controls Engineering and Controls and Information Systems community.
Identify capability gaps and support training and onboarding initiatives.
Contribute to continuous improvement, safety-by-design and value-added technology programs.
Maintain professional development through relevant training, seminars and technical forums.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or Information Technology Engineering from an accredited university.

Experience

8+ years of relevant experience in Controls Engineering, automation, instrumentation or control systems.
Hands-on experience with plant-floor commissioning, troubleshooting and line integration.
Experience delivering automation projects from design and development through commissioning and operational handover.

Technical Skills

Experience with AVEVA System Platform, OMI and/or Ignition SCADA, including graphics, alarms, dashboards, historian functions and data logging.
PLC programming experience with Rockwell ControlLogix and Studio 5000 and/or Siemens platforms.
Knowledge of industrial networks and operational technology cybersecurity, including VLANs, managed switches, firewalls, IP addressing, access control, patching and network segmentation.
Experience with SQL and scripting or application development using Python, Visual Basic or .NET.
Working knowledge of VMware or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
Knowledge of instrumentation, field devices, industrial protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus and Profibus, electrical panels, motor control centres and single-line diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electronics or Instrumentation, or an MBA.
Experience in plant engineering or food manufacturing.
Experience with Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, connected-worker or data-driven manufacturing solutions.
Experience integrating manufacturing execution systems with supervisory control, programmable controller or plant data systems.
