About the job

Cloud Solutions Architect / Engineer We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Cloud Solutions Architect / Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure across a primarily AWS environment (~80%), with meaningful ongoing work in Google Cloud Platform (~20%). This role combines architectural leadership with the ability to dive deep and execute technical solutions across both platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong AWS foundation, working proficiency in GCP, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality cloud solutions. Roles and Responsibilities Partner with stakeholders and team members on technical decision-making, design reviews, and enforcing engineering standards across AWS and GCP. Architect and manage cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations, and change requests, primarily within AWS with periodic work in GCP. Evaluate existing systems for capacity, reliability, and scalability; recommend and implement improvements. Design and implement event-driven architectures leveraging AWS services (e.g., Lambda, SQS, SNS), with some workloads built on GCP equivalents (e.g., Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub). Define and enforce S3 lifecycle policies and RDS high-availability strategies; apply comparable storage and database practices in GCP (Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery) where relevant. Develop and optimize Lambda functions for performance and cost efficiency; extend similar optimization practices to Cloud Functions/Cloud Run where applicable. Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, supporting both AWS and GCP resources. Create, implement, and manage automation scripts to streamline operations across cloud environments. Monitor and maintain environments with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and centralized logging solutions; incorporate GCP's Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging for GCP-hosted workloads. Lead efforts to optimize workloads within AWS environments aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and apply GCP's architecture framework where GCP is in use. Drive modernization initiatives, including moving internal operations and data to cloud-native architectures on AWS and, where appropriate, GCP. Support occasional multi-cloud or cloud-migration projects involving data or workload movement between AWS and GCP. Stay up to date with best practices across both platforms, ensuring security, compliance, and cost optimization. Skills & Qualifications AWS Certified (Solutions Architect or higher) with proven experience architecting and engineering AWS cloud solutions. Hands-on expertise with EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, IAM, and VPC design. Strong experience configuring VPCs, availability zones, and cloud networking models. Working proficiency in GCP core services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, IAM, VPC); GCP certification (e.g., Associate/Professional Cloud Architect) is a plus. Ability to translate architectural patterns between AWS and GCP, and support workloads or migrations spanning both platforms. Proficiency in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell). Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), ideally with multi-cloud provider configurations. Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework and security best practices; working knowledge of GCP's equivalent framework. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.
