Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, result-oriented, and highly experienced Senior Software Sales Engineer to spearhead our software sales activities across India. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical acumen in industrial metrology and software solutions with exceptional commercial and team leadership capabilities.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the entire sales lifecycle—from lead generation to technical qualification, quoting, and commercial PO negotiations. You will Guide and Push a high-performing, pan-India sales team, guiding them strategically to penetrate the market, cross-sell software solutions into existing and competition CMM accounts, and capture new market share in alignment with Zeiss CMM Machines and advanced metrology software suites.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Business Development (Pan-India)

Own and drive the pan-India sales targets for the metrology software portfolio, ensuring sustainable revenue growth.

Identify, target, and acquire high-value customers across key manufacturing segments including Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, and Precision Engineering.

Promote and position advanced metrology software (e.g., ZEISS CALYPSO, PiWeb, Gear, and Blade solutions) as premium value-add upgrades to new and existing CMM hardware installations.

End-to-End Deal Management (Lead to PO)

Manage the complete sales lifecycle: source and qualify leads, architect technical solutions, present compelling software demonstrations, issue quotes, and lead commercial PO negotiations.

Engage directly with key customers, procurement heads, plant managers, and quality directors to establish strong executive-level relationships.

Formulate clear commercial proposals and navigate complex legal, commercial, and technical evaluation processes to secure high-value contracts.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

Lead, mentor, and guide a specialized, pan-India team of sales engineers and technical specialists.

Establish clear regional performance targets, perform regular pipeline evaluations, and support the team in overcoming sales bottlenecks and closing deals.

Provide ongoing coaching on software value-selling methodologies, technical roadmaps, and negotiation strategies.

Market Intelligence & Product Alignment

Maintain an in-depth understanding of the industrial software market, competitor capabilities, and shifting customer expectations in quality control and Industry 4.0.

Collaborate closely with technical support and product management teams to ensure customer requirements and feedback are effectively channeled back into product improvement.

Required Profile & Qualifications

Education & Technical Background

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field. An MBA in Sales/Marketing is highly advantageous.

6+ years of proven track record in industrial software sales, automation sales, or high-value metrology solutions.

Mandatory Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of the industrial metrology software landscape, ideally with hands-on exposure to CMM systems and CALYPSO software (or equivalents like PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, Metrolog).

Skills & Experience

Team Handling: Demonstrated experience managing or leading a small team of sales professionals across a distributed geographic area (preferably Pan-India).

Commercial & Negotiation Excellence: Exceptional capability in managing the full sales funnel ("lead-to-quote") and closing tough PO negotiations independently.

Communication: Superior presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to easily bridge the gap between technical users and C-level commercial decision-makers.

Travel: Readiness to travel extensively across India to build relationships, support team pipeline, and close critical accounts.
