Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Designation: Senior Data Engineering

Location: Mph-Cybercity Tower 4, Pune, IN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in data operations and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with monitoring platforms and a proven ability to enhance operational readiness within delivery pipelines. This role requires expertise in Python, API integration, and incident management, along with a commitment to maintaining high standards in documentation and error handling.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement robust data operations processes to ensure high availability and reliability of data systems.

Utilize monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch to track system performance and identify issues proactively.

Manage incident response processes, including the creation and maintenance of runbooks to enable support teams effectively.

Integrate APIs (REST, ServiceNow, OKTA) to enhance system functionality and streamline operations.

Incorporate 'shift-left' operational readiness practices into delivery pipelines to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

Develop and maintain structured logging and debugging practices for distributed systems, ensuring traceability through asynchronous operations.

Implement error handling strategies to design resilient and retriable workflows, ensuring proper exception handling and recovery mechanisms.

Write clear and concise documentation, including docstrings and runbooks, to facilitate troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of data solutions.

Mandatory Skills:

Strong hands-on experience with monitoring platforms (Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch).

Proven expertise in incident management and support team enablement.

Solid understanding of API integration, specifically with REST, ServiceNow, and OKTA.

Expertise in Python programming, with a focus on all modules being Python-based.

Experience in logging and debugging distributed systems, including structured logging and tracing state through async operations.

Proficient in Git and version control, with a solid understanding of branching strategies and CI/CD integration.

Strong skills in designing error handling and resilient workflows.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with additional API integrations such as Databricks, GitHub, AWS, and Lakeflow.

Experience in developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for technical processes.

Knowledge of best practices in data engineering and SRE methodologies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
