Responsibilities
Proficient experience with IBM (SSS 6000), Ceph on Lenovo ThinkSystem SR665, Dell Unity 600, Dell Unity 450F, VNX 5600, Isilon, and VPLEX VS6 storage systems.
Knowledge of storage protocols and technologies, including SAN and NAS.
Familiarity with storage virtualization and data deduplication.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional or equivalent are a plus.
Responsibilities:
Storage Administration:
Configure, maintain, and optimize Ceph based storage, IBM (SSS 6000), Dell Unity 600, Dell Unity 450F, VNX 5600, Isilon, and VPLEX VS6 storage systems.
Perform routine storage provisioning and allocation tasks.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
Monitor storage performance and respond to alerts to ensure optimal operation.
Identify and implement improvements to enhance storage efficiency and performance.
Data Protection and Disaster Recovery:
Establish and maintain data protection strategies, including backups and replication.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
Diagnose and resolve storage-related problems promptly.
Collaborate with team members to address complex storage issues.
Capacity Planning:
Assess storage capacity needs and recommend scaling or upgrades as necessary.
Monitor storage utilization trends and plan for future storage requirements.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Keep records of changes made to storage environments.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other IT teams, including networking, virtualization, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration of storage solutions with broader IT infrastructure.
Vendor Interaction:
Communicate with IBM, Lenovo, Dell vendors for technical support, hardware replacements, and firmware updates.
