Backup Storage Engineer L4

Role Purpose

Provide handson L1 L2 and selected L3 operational support for backup and storage services across onpremises infrastructure and cloudintegrated protection platforms

Monitor backup jobs storage s replication appliances media capacities hardware health and service queues take timely corrective action

Perform daily administration of backup policies clients agents schedules retention media pools disk pools tape operations and reporting

Support SANNAS operations including provisioning requests share permissions coordination zoningmasking changes under guidance multipath checks and capacity allocation

Execute approved restores for files VMs databases applications and systems validate requester authorization and document recovery evidence

Support cloudintegrated backup object storage gateway archive snapshot vault and replication services within defined runbooks

Troubleshoot failed jobs connectivity agentservice issues credentials snapshots capacity media catalog hardware and performance symptoms

Follow incident request change problem access configuration and knowledge processes with accurate technical records

Perform health checks housekeeping log reviews patch support upgrades certificate renewals inventory updates and operational reporting

Escalate product defects and complex issues to senior engineers or vendors with logs timelines impact and completed diagnostics

Contribute to SOPs automation shiftleft trend analysis recurringissue elimination DR drills and audit evidence

Required Qualifications Experience

5 to 8 years of relevant experience including ownership of complex enterprise services and production support

Bachelors degree in engineering computer science information technology or a related discipline equivalent practical experience may be considered

Demonstrated experience in enterprisescale environments with formal ITSM security audit change and servicelevel controls

Strong analytical troubleshooting documentation presentation and stakeholdermanagement capabilities

Ability to work across distributed teams and participate in planned changes incident bridges and oncall support when required

Vendor backup or storage associate certification
