As our Software Architect, you’ll set the technical direction for systems that handle sensitive health records and money movement for large user bases. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll make the big calls, write code, and raise the bar for everyone around you.
What You’ll Own
•Architecture, end to end: system design, APIs, data models, security, scalability, observability, and cloud cost.
•Reliability at scale: uptime, latency, and performance for products serving large user bases.
•Security-critical design: safe handling of PHI and payment workflows, with compliance built in from the start.
•Cloud-native delivery: MERN applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure, using Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and secrets management.
•Key technical decisions: microservices vs. monolith, event-driven patterns, third-party integrations, and build-vs-buy.
•Production firefighting: diagnosing and fixing bottlenecks in performance, scalability, and availability.
•Engineering standards: reference architectures, reusable patterns, and clear guidelines the whole team can follow.
•Hands-on contribution: regular coding, design reviews, and code reviews.
•People growth: mentoring senior engineers and developing the next generation of technical leaders.
What You Bring (Must-Haves)
•8+ years in software engineering, with a clear record of owning architecture.
•Experience running a production system with 100,000+ users (mandatory).
•Proven history of finding and fixing major bottlenecks at scale.
•Strong hands-on Node.js and React; MERN experience preferred.
•Solid cloud architecture experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
•Background in healthcare, fintech, payments, insurance, or another security-critical domain.
•Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design, databases, and reliability engineering.
•The ability to explain and defend technical decisions clearly to engineers and stakeholders.
