Design and review systems using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Kafka, NoSQL databases, cloud-native technologies, and related platform capabilities.
Lead design reviews, technical deep dives, code reviews, and architecture discussions, ensuring solutions meet Walmart engineering, security, privacy, accessibility, and operational standards.
Establish and promote coding standards, design patterns, testing strategies, observability practices, and secure software development principles.
Stay hands-on by contributing to critical code, prototypes, proof-of-concepts, technical spikes, and production problem resolution.
Ensure services are built for reliability through effective telemetry, monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, performance engineering, disaster recovery, and operational readiness.
Drive engineering excellence through automation, CI/CD, DevOps practices, continuous delivery, and improvements to developer productivity.
Partner closely with Product Management, UX/UI, Quality Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Security, Data, and Architecture teams.
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, architects, product leaders, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.
Create clear technical documentation, architecture decision records, diagrams, presentations, and implementation guidance.
Mentor senior engineers and technical leads, foster a culture of learning and innovation, and help grow the organization’s technical capabilities.
Influence technical standards and reusable patterns across Walmart+ and the broader Walmart Global Tech community.
Conduct research and evaluate emerging technologies, including agentic AI use cases, to identify opportunities that improve customer experiences, engineering effectiveness, and platform scalability.
Participate in hiring, technical assessments, hackathons, demo days, architecture forums, and other activities that strengthen the engineering community.
