Job Purpose:
To prevent, diagnose and control infections as they identify and characterise organisms.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform and document microbiological testing
Formulate differential diagnosis
Interpret microbiology results*
Guide antimicrobial therapy*
Participate in infection control meetings
Ensure cleanliness of work area
Guide junior colleagues & technicians working in the area
Ensure compliance with infection control guidelines
Participate in quality assurance of the department and the hospital.
Candidate Requirements:
Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
Ability to comprehend written instructions given by the Doctors and the other related departmental personnel.
Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively.
Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out the instructions given by the supervisors and other related departmental personnel.
Affinity to work in team.
