Job Description (JD) – Associate II, Field Technician Job Title Associate II – Field Technician Location Flexible / Onsite (as applicable) Experience 2-5 Years Job Summary We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Associate II - Field Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of telecommunications, network, and associated field equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical troubleshooting capabilities, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work effectively in field environments while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, test, and maintain telecom and network equipment at customer and field locations. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on network infrastructure and communication systems. Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and infrastructure-related issues. Conduct site surveys and assessments to support deployments and upgrades. Monitor equipment performance and report operational issues to engineering and support teams. Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, service requests, and inventory. Coordinate with network operations, engineering, and customer support teams to resolve field issues. Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures and organizational standards. Support equipment upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives. Participate in on-call support and emergency restoration activities when required. Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers during field visits. Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level support teams as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in field services, telecommunications, network support, or technical maintenance. Knowledge of telecom infrastructure, networking concepts, and communication systems. Hands-on experience with installation and troubleshooting of routers, switches, modems, fiber, or telecom equipment. Basic understanding of IP networking, LAN/WAN technologies, and network connectivity troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, diagrams, and schematics. Proficiency in using testing and diagnostic tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to travel frequently and work in field environments. Preferred Qualifications Certifications such as: CCNA CompTIA Network+ Fiber Optic Technician (FOT) Certification Vendor-specific telecom certifications Experience working with fiber optic networks and structured cabling. Knowledge of wireless, LTE/4G, or 5G network technologies. Familiarity with ticketing systems and field service management tools. Understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
