Job Description: Senior QA Engineer – Manual & Automation Testing Position Overview We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior QA Engineer with strong experience in manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate will spend approximately 60% of their time on manual testing and 40% on automation testing, using tools such as Playwright and Provar. The candidate should have a strong sense of ownership, a positive attitude, a commitment to delivering high-quality work, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly. This role requires close collaboration with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA teams to ensure reliable, high-quality software releases. Key Responsibilities 1. Manual Testing – 60% • Analyze business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications to develop comprehensive test scenarios and test cases. • Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing. • Validate business workflows, application functionality, data accuracy, and integration points. • Execute test cases, document test results, and maintain clear evidence of testing. • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution and retesting. • Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to investigate issues, clarify requirements, and ensure expected behavior. • Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness discussions. • Ensure adequate test coverage for new features, enhancements, bug fixes, and regression scenarios. • Support release validation, smoke testing, and production verification when required. 2. Automation Testing – 40% • Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Playwright and Provar. • Automate high-value regression scenarios and repetitive test cases to improve testing efficiency and coverage. • Build and maintain reusable, reliable, and maintainable automation scripts. • Execute automated test suites, analyze failures, and troubleshoot automation issues. • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with development and DevOps teams. • Identify appropriate candidates for automation based on business value, test frequency, and stability. • Maintain automation documentation, test data, and execution reports. • Continuously improve the automation framework, test execution reliability, and overall test coverage. 3. Ownership and Collaboration • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned testing activities, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and with the expected quality. • Proactively communicate testing progress, risks, blockers, and potential release impacts. • Coordinate effectively with development, business, integration, and other QA teams to resolve dependencies and issues. • Follow up on open defects and action items without requiring repeated reminders. • Demonstrate accountability for commitments and escalate risks early when necessary. • Contribute to team knowledge sharing, peer reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications and Skills • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing, including both manual and automation testing. • Strong hands-on experience in manual testing, including functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing. • Practical experience with Playwright for test automation. • Experience with Provar, preferably for Salesforce application testing and business process automation. • Good understanding of QA methodologies, software development life cycle (SDLC), and software testing life cycle (STLC). • Experience creating test plans, test scenarios, test cases, defect reports, and test execution summaries. • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira or equivalent test management and defect tracking systems. • Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Experience working with APIs, databases, and integrated applications is an advantage. Desired Personal Attributes • Positive attitude: Approaches challenges constructively and works well with team members. • Commitment and accountability: Takes responsibility for assigned tasks and delivers quality work within agreed timelines. • Learnability: Demonstrates a willingness and ability to learn new tools, technologies, business processes, and testing approaches. • Ownership: Proactively identifies issues, follows through on commitments, and drives tasks to completion. • Communication: Clearly communicates testing status, risks, issues, and dependencies to relevant stakeholders. • Team collaboration: Works effectively across QA, development, business, and integration teams. • Attention to detail: Identifies edge cases, inconsistencies, and potential quality risks. • Adaptability: Responds effectively to changing priorities, evolving requirements, and release timelines. Success Criteria The successful candidate will be expected to: • Deliver comprehensive manual testing with strong functional and regression coverage. • Develop and maintain reliable automation scripts using Playwright and Provar. • Complete assigned testing activities within agreed timelines. • Identify defects early and provide clear, actionable defect reports. • Demonstrate proactive communication and effective coordination across teams. • Show continuous learning, accountability, and a consistent commitment to product quality. • Contribute to improving testing processes, automation coverage, and release confidence. What We Value Most Beyond technical skills, we are looking for someone who demonstrates the right attitude, strong commitment, accountability, willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. The ideal candidate does not simply execute test cases but takes ownership of quality, proactively identifies risks, and works with the team to deliver reliable solutions.
