About the job

About CRA

CRA designs and manufactures custom-engineered systems for

the Energy and Defence sectors. We deliver complex projects end-to-end,

entirely in-house, combining design, engineering, and manufacturing under one

roof. Our systems are trusted by leading organisations including BrahMos

Aerospace, ONGC, Indian Air Force, and Schlumberger.

Role Overview

You will build 3D models of CRA's process equipment and skid

packages, and produce the GA and fabrication drawings from them. You will work

from engineers' datasheets, P&IDs and sketches, and from vendor drawings.

Your models go to clients for approval and to our fabrication shop, so accuracy

and buildability are the core of the job.

Key Responsibilities

Build 3D models of vessels,

stacks, combustion chambers, scrubbers, skids and containerised systems from

engineers' inputs

Route skid piping to the

P&ID, placing valves, fittings and supports for operation and maintenance

Model skid frames and structures

in standard sections, including lifting points and transport limits

Model vendor equipment from

outline drawings and check its interfaces against the P&ID and layout

Produce GA and fabrication

drawings from the models, with dimensions, weld symbols, BOMs and cut lists

Check models for clashes, access

and nozzle orientation before release

Keep models organised to CRA's

standards for assembly structure, part numbers, materials and revisions

Raise queries where inputs

conflict, and incorporate client comments and site markups

Work with process, mechanical and

E&I engineers and the fabrication shop so designs are practical to build.

Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
3 to 7 years of 3D design of process equipment, skids or fabricated structures with an OEM, fabricator or EPC
Expert in SolidWorks, Inventor or a similar parametric 3D tool, including assemblies, weldments or frames, sheet metal and drawings
Experience routing piping in 3D, and able to read P&IDs and vendor drawings
Working knowledge of fabrication: standard plate, pipe and steel sections, ASME B16.5 flanges and B16.9 fittings, weld symbols and tolerances
Proficient in AutoCAD for 2D work
Preferred: P&ID drafting; pressure vessels, flares or combustion equipment; compressor and blower skids

Shortlisted candidates will be asked for sample models and drawings and a hands-on 3D design test.
