Unit Manager - IT

Job Purpose

• To ensure high availability, security, performance, and resilience of Dynamo , Mongo DB across PaaS and IaaS environments by providing end-to-end ownership, enabling robust HA/DR capabilities, and ensuring compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.

• Own end-to-end Dynamo DB , Mongo database availability, performance, and reliability across PaaS/IaaS platforms.

• Ensure high availability, DR readiness, and RPO/RTO compliance through robust architecture and regular drills.

• Drive database security and compliance aligned with RBI/NBFC, ISO, and enterprise standards.

• Lead performance optimization, incident resolution, and operational excellence initiatives.

• Provide team leadership and vendor governance to ensure consistent, resilient, and scalable database operations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

a) Qualifications

• Engineering / Computer Graduate with specialization IT Operations and relevant experience in Dynamo DB , Mongo DB Management with 4 to 6 years of Relevant experience

• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with strong stakeholder communication capability

• Logical and structured approach to problem solving in high-pressure environments

• Strong knowledge of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery principles in regulated (NBFC/BFSI) environments

• ITIL Foundation or Intermediate Certification

• Strong understanding of Database Recovery concepts including RPO, RTO, failover, and failback

• Hands-on knowledge of multi-cloud environments including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

• Understanding of cross-cloud Database architectures, replication, backup, and recovery strategies

• Knowledge of resiliency and continuity design for AI/ML platforms, data pipelines, and AI-enabled products

• Strong understanding of data backup, recovery mechanisms, and data center architectures

b) Qualifications

Strong experience in Database Administration and DB Security across IAAS and Pass DB - Dynamo DB , Mongo Databases and emerging technology landscapes. The role is responsible for Managing and Supporting Database end-to-end , ensuring DR drills are executed as per schedule, enabling new DR requirements and implementations, and ensuring operational resiliency across multi-cloud and AI-enabled platforms. The position ensures enterprise-wide resilience aligned with organizational strategy, RBI/NBFC regulatory expectations, and industry standards such as ISO 22301.

• Manage and optimize , Dynamo DB , Mongo databases across PaaS/IaaS environments ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance.

• Administration -Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade PostGres databases across production and non-production environments.

• Cluster Management -Design and support InnoDB clusters with Group Replication, ensuring HA, failover readiness, and cluster health.

• Replication Management -Configure and manage, Dynamo DB , Mongo replication (async, semi-sync, GTID) and handle replication issues and data consistency.

• Performance Tuning -Analyze and resolve performance issues including slow queries, indexing, locking, and resource bottlenecks.

• Troubleshooting & Incident Management -Handle critical database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and ensure quick resolution of production issues.

• Backup & Disaster Recovery -Manage backup, restore, and DR strategies ensuring RPO/RTO compliance and periodic validation.

• Compliance & Security -Ensure database security, hardening, access control, and adherence to audit/compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC2, RBI, etc.).

• Platform Management (PaaS/IaaS) -Administer, Dynamo DB , Mongo environments on cloud/IaaS platforms with focus on scalability and reliability.

• Documentation & Governance -Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and audit-ready documentation for database operations and compliance.Design and conduct BC/DR training and awareness programs for business, IT, and partners

• Collaborate with IT, Cloud, Security, Risk, and Compliance teams on resilience initiatives

• Support internal, external, and regulatory audits including evidence preparation and observation closure
