We are currently seeking a Technology Consultant - Playwright Automation Engineer to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Job Title: Senior Technology Consultant – Playwright Automation Engineer

Location: Bangalore, Chennai, Noida, Hyderabad

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Playwright Automation Engineer with strong expertise in designing and developing scalable test automation solutions for modern enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, API testing, automation framework development, and CI/CD integration .

The role requires a strong hands-on engineer who can define automation approaches, build reusable frameworks, improve test coverage, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with development, QA, Product, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Day to Day Job Duties

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Playwright-based automation frameworks for web applications.
Develop automated test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript .
Automate functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end test scenarios.
Develop reusable automation components, utilities, fixtures, and test-data management solutions.
Perform API automation and validation using Playwright, Postman, or similar tools.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
Implement parallel execution, cross-browser testing, retries, reporting, and test execution optimization.
Review business and functional requirements and define appropriate automation coverage.
Collaborate with developers and Product teams to improve application testability and overall quality.
Analyze automation failures, identify root causes, and distinguish application defects from framework/environment issues.
Perform code reviews and establish automation coding standards and best practices.
Track defects and collaborate with development teams through resolution.
Monitor automation results, test coverage, defect trends, and quality metrics.
Mentor junior/mid-level automation engineers and provide technical guidance.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, release planning, and production readiness activities.

Basic Qualifications

6+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Engineering, and Test Automation .
4+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, and modern web automation .
4+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise test automation frameworks .
3+ years of experience with API automation, CI/CD integration, and automated regression testing .

Core Technical Skills

Automation: Playwright
Programming: TypeScript, JavaScript
API Testing: Playwright API, Postman, REST APIs
Testing: Functional, Regression, Integration, E2E, Smoke Testing
Framework Development: Page Object Model, Fixtures, Reusable Components, Data-Driven Testing
CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps
Version Control: Git, GitHub/GitLab
Defect Management: Jira, Azure DevOps or similar
Databases: SQL and backend data validation

Nice to Have

Experience with Selenium, Cypress, or other UI automation frameworks .
Strong knowledge of Playwright capabilities including browser contexts, fixtures, network interception, tracing, screenshots, and parallel execution.
Experience implementing cross-browser and multi-environment automation.
Experience with BDD/Cucumber frameworks.
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience executing automated tests in cloud or containerized environments.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Knowledge of accessibility and visual regression testing.
Experience with performance testing and application monitoring tools.
Experience integrating automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or other enterprise environments.
Strong technical leadership, mentoring, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
