We are currently seeking a Technology Consultant - Functional Test to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Job Title: Technology Consultant – Manual QA / Functional Test Engineer

Overall Experience: 2 - 5 Years

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Functional Test Engineer to validate business-critical applications and ensure software solutions meet defined business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in manual testing, functional testing, business process validation, defect management, and regression testing . The role requires close collaboration with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and other QA team members to identify defects and ensure high-quality software delivery.

Day to Day Job Duties

Execute manual test scripts, business processes, and end-to-end user workflows in production-like environments.

Review business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop appropriate test scenarios and test cases.

Perform functional testing to validate application behavior against defined business requirements.

Identify and document bugs, unexpected system behavior, and usability issues .

Record defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, screenshots, logs, and other supporting evidence.

Track defects through investigation, resolution, retesting, and closure.

Re-test resolved defects to verify that implemented fixes address the identified issues.

Perform regression testing to ensure application changes and patches do not impact existing functionality or critical business workflows.

Validate end-to-end business processes across integrated applications where applicable.

Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owners to clarify requirements and expected application behavior.

Work with Developers to reproduce defects and support root cause analysis.

Participate in defect triage meetings and communicate testing risks, blockers, and quality concerns.

Maintain test cases, test execution results, defect reports, and requirements traceability.

Support UAT, release validation, and production readiness activities.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of experience in Manual Testing, Functional Testing, and Software Quality Assurance .

3+ years of experience developing and executing test cases, test scenarios, and end-to-end business workflow testing .

2+ years of experience with defect management, regression testing, and requirements/acceptance criteria validation .

2+ years of experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, qTest, ALM, or similar test/defect management tools .

Core Skills

Testing: Manual, Functional, Regression, End-to-End, Smoke & Sanity Testing

Requirements: User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Business Requirements

Defect Management: Defect Identification, Documentation, Retesting & Closure

Business Validation: Business Process & Workflow Testing

Documentation: Test Cases, Test Scripts, Test Evidence, Traceability

Tools: Jira, Azure DevOps, qTest, ALM or similar

Methodologies: Agile, Scrum, SDLC, STLC

Nice to Have

Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.

Basic SQL knowledge for backend data validation.

Experience with integration and system testing.

Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Knowledge of web and mobile application testing.

Familiarity with test automation concepts and tools such as Selenium or Playwright.

Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, Retail, or other enterprise environments.

ISTQB or equivalent testing certification is preferred.

Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
