Job Title

Senior Vice President – Program Manager

Job Description

Blackstone is seeking a best-in-class Senior Vice President, Program Manager to shape and lead technology-enabled initiatives across its Finance and Operations Technology portfolio. Based in Bangalore, this leader will define the long-term direction and own the delivery of complex, multi-year programs spanning corporate finance, procurement, treasury, and fund accounting platforms, partnering closely with Finance, Treasury, Fund Operations, and Technology leadership across global offices.

The ideal candidate pairs deep corporate finance technology expertise (for example Oracle, Coupa, treasury management, and fund calculation platforms) with strategic foresight, exceptional problem-solving skills, strong program leadership, and a hands-on technical mindset. This person will anticipate future business and technology needs, use AI and data thoughtfully to improve decisions and delivery, and set the standard for program leadership in Bangalore. The role requires equal comfort shaping a compelling long-term vision, presenting recommendations to executive steering committees, and driving disciplined sprint-level execution in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of finance and operations technology programs, including general ledger, financial close, procure-to-pay, treasury and cash management, and fund calculation and allocation platforms.
Own program strategy, target-state roadmaps, and multi-year delivery plans, anticipating future business capabilities and technology needs while translating objectives from the CFO organization, Controllers, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, and Fund Operations into clear priorities, requirements, and execution milestones.
Drive large-scale implementations, upgrades, and integrations of enterprise platforms such as Oracle (Fusion/EBS), Coupa, treasury management systems (e.g. Kyriba, FIS Quantum, or ION), and fund accounting and waterfall engines.
Establish and run program governance, including steering committees, executive status reporting, RAID management, budget and resource tracking, and benefits realization.
Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, data, architecture, information security, finance operations, and third-party vendors and system integrators, across Bangalore, New York, and other global locations, leveraging tools such as JIRA, Sigma, and Excel for planning, tracking, and analysis.
Serve as a trusted strategic partner to senior finance and technology leaders, structuring ambiguous problems, identifying root causes, developing practical options, and prioritizing investments based on long-term value, risk, scalability, and business impact.
Manage vendor and system integrator relationships, including statements of work, delivery oversight, commercial tracking, and escalation.
Define and track program success metrics (for example close-cycle time, straight-through processing rates, reconciliation breaks, and user adoption), using data and AI-enabled analysis where appropriate to surface insights, improve forecasting, strengthen decisions, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

15+ years of experience in financial services technology, with at least 8 years leading large, complex programs as a program manager, delivery lead, or senior technical project manager.
Deep, hands-on experience delivering corporate finance technology, such as Oracle ERP (Fusion or EBS), Coupa, treasury management systems, and fund accounting, fund calculation, or waterfall and allocation platforms.
Strong understanding of corporate finance and fund operations concepts, including general ledger, consolidation, financial close, accounts payable, cash management, fees, carried interest, capital calls and distributions, and investor allocations, and how they translate into data, systems, and processes.
Proven track record delivering multi-workstream, cross-regional programs in a high-expectation environment, ideally at a top-tier asset manager, private equity firm, investment bank, or leading technology or consulting organization.
Experience leading distributed teams and working across time zones, including partnering with US- and Europe-based stakeholders from an India delivery center.
Demonstrated critical thinking beyond immediate delivery, define a credible long-term vision and roadmap, and connect near-term priorities to broader business, operating model, data, and technology outcomes while remaining close to execution.
Exceptional problem solver who thrives in ambiguity, brings structure to complex and incomplete information, challenges assumptions constructively, and drives decisions and outcomes without heavy supervision.
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills,  to build clear, visually compelling executive materials; synthesize complex information into a concise narrative; facilitate decision-oriented discussions; and tailor messages for technical, business, and senior leadership audiences.
High level of critical and systems thinking, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and professionalism, to evaluate second-order impacts and make balanced recommendations aligned with Blackstone’s culture of  and performance.
Proficiency with JIRA (or similar tools) for backlog management, sprint planning, portfolio and program tracking, and status reporting.
Solid understanding of finance system integration patterns, including ERP interfaces, bank connectivity (SWIFT, host-to-host, payment file formats), subledger and journal feeds, and master data management.
Strong understanding of modern system architectures, including cloud-native and SaaS platforms, APIs, microservices, data pipelines, event-driven integrations, and enterprise application ecosystems.
Experience partnering with technology teams on data model reviews, technical requirements, solution architecture, and end-to-end delivery across upstream and downstream platforms.
Command of both Agile and waterfall delivery, including SDLC governance, DevOps concepts, release planning, testing coordination, environment management, and production implementation readiness.
Hands-on, resourceful, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership over delivering outcomes rather than just managing processes.
Forward-looking, curious, analytical, and intellectually rigorous, to connect market, business, data, and technology trends to a practical long-term strategy.
Confident and credible with senior leaders, to present a clear point of view, communicate complex trade-offs simply, influence decisions, and navigate competing priorities with maturity and discretion.
A leader who builds trust across geographies and develops talent within the Bangalore team.
Strong alignment with Blackstone’s values, including ethical judgment teamwork, innovation, and long-term partnership with colleagues and investors.
