With its robust three-sided technology platform, Ethos is transforming the life insurance experience for consumers, agents, and carriers alike. Ethos is redefining how life insurance is bought, sold, and underwritten.

About the role

Ethos is looking for a Strategy and Operations Manager to join our fast-growing Direct-to-Consumer business. You’ll help drive growth initiatives across an expanding product portfolio, multiple channels, and the full customer lifecycle, working side by side with marketing, product, and sales leaders.

Our consumer business has endless opportunities across products, marketing channels, and sales motions. Your job is to lead defined cross-functional projects that help scale revenue growth, and to take real ownership of the results. You’ll use strong analytical and modeling skills to figure out what’s worth doing and how to do it well, then work with teams to get it done. This is not a role for someone who only recommends. It’s for a strategist and builder who tracks down answers, rolls up their sleeves, and sees projects through. Our team is naturally aligned, truth-seeking, and moves fast, so you’ll spend your time building and executing rather than navigating layers of process. You’ll also work with teams across the company to experiment with AI and apply it where it can move key business metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Own and drive defined growth projects from concept to completion, working closely with functional leaders. Examples include launching an existing product in a new marketing channel, supporting the expansion of a product into a new distribution channel, or running an analysis and pilot to improve retention for a mature product line.
Lead cross-functional projects that span Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Partnerships, keeping stakeholders aligned and execution moving.
Support the identification and prioritization of growth opportunities across our expanding product portfolio (term life, IUL, estate planning), the customer lifecycle (acquisition, retention, cross-sell), and multiple channels (organic, performance, paid social, TV, partnerships, referrals).
Dig into funnel, cohort, channel, and retention data to understand what’s driving results and where the biggest opportunities are.
Build business cases and model unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback, contribution margin) to support go/no-go recommendations on new opportunities.
Develop a working understanding of how our products, channels, and teams interact, and use it to help teams focus on the highest-impact work.
Partner with teams across the org to identify and pilot AI use cases that improve decision-making, output quality, and efficiency, and share what works with others.

Qualifications and Skills:

4-6+ years of total experience, ideally 2+ years in management consulting or investment banking, followed by 2+ years in Strategy & Operations, Growth, or a similar role at a high-growth, venture-backed company.
Analytical and relentless. You’re comfortable building models from scratch in Excel and SQL (or similar tools) and breaking ambiguous problems into clear frameworks. You track down data, ask the next question, and don’t stop at the first dead end.
Cross-functional collaborator and communicator. You build trust quickly with marketing, product, sales, and engineering, move projects forward without formal authority, and communicate clearly in writing and in front of senior leaders.
Fast-moving operator. You own your projects, get your hands dirty, and can point to initiatives you drove end-to-end, not just recommendations you made. You ramp quickly, move fast, and make decisions without perfect information.
Curious about AI. You actively experiment with AI tools, at work or in your personal life, to work faster and sharper, and you share what you learn with others.
