About the job
Amazon's Tax Account Compliance team is seeking a Senior Tax Program Manager to drive end-to-end program management for tax across Amazon's global Marketplace business. In this role, you will act as the embedded business risk owner, accountable for proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating tax risks. You will also translate regulatory requirements into detailed program requirements, coordinate cross-functional delivery with tech, product, legal, tax planning, operations and other partner teams, and program manage regulatory changes from scoping through to execution. At the same time, you will ensure programs are proportionate and risk-calibrated, minimizing false positives and protecting legitimate sellers while maintaining marketplace integrity.
The ideal candidate is a pragmatic, innovative program manager with experience building programs from the ground up, launching scalable solutions across multiple functions and organizations, and understanding seller pain points. You will raise the seller experience bar by optimizing controls, removing unnecessary friction, and reducing business impact from tax obligations. Problem-solving, program management skills, and executive communication are essential to be successful in this role.
Key job responsibilities
A day in the life
You are joining a global team spread across the US, EU, Japan, and India. You will partner closely with Tax Governance and collaborate heavily with Risk teams to ensure Amazon's compliance controls are in the best possible working order.
Your days will blend regulatory analysis, cross-functional delivery, seller experience optimization, and stakeholder coordination. One morning you are translating a new regulation into program requirements; the afternoon you are preparing materials for a senior leadership review.
No two days are the same, but the constant is pace, impact, and global reach.
