A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As the Sr. Sourcing Manager, you will lead a team of Sourcing Specialists based in India responsible for executing Direct Material sourcing activities across MKS. You will oversee the broader sourcing portfolio, set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure the team is positioned to deliver cost, supply continuity, and business objectives.

You’ll report to the Global NPI and Sourcing Director and work closely with Category Managers, Engineering, Quality, NPI, Procurement, Should-Cost, Supplier Development, and other business stakeholders. While Sourcing Specialists lead and execute individual sourcing projects, you will orchestrate activities across the portfolio by aligning priorities and resources, providing sourcing and commercial guidance, removing roadblocks, facilitating cross-functional alignment, and managing escalations when needed.

You will bring strong sourcing experience, commercial judgment, and knowledge of complex manufacturing to guide the team and support fact-based supplier decisions. As a people leader, you will coach and develop the Sourcing Specialists in India, establish clear expectations, manage workload and performance, and build the team’s sourcing capabilities. You will also promote consistent application of the 6-Gate Sourcing Process and ensure sourcing activities remain aligned with Category Management strategy and broader business needs.

You Will Make an Impact By:

Overseeing a portfolio of Direct Material sourcing initiatives across machining, fabrication, electromechanical, and other assigned commodities.
Coordinating sourcing priorities based on business needs, cost opportunities, NPI requirements, supply risk, and Category Management direction.
Enabling Sourcing Specialists to successfully execute their projects by ensuring clear priorities, requirements, resources, and stakeholder support.
Maintaining visibility across sourcing initiatives, including status, milestones, risks, resource constraints, decisions, and financial impact.
Ensuring consistent application of the 6-Gate Sourcing Process, sourcing standards, and approval requirements.
Orchestrating cross-functional alignment across Category Management, Engineering, Quality, NPI, Procurement, Should-Cost, Supplier Development, and other stakeholders to support timely sourcing decisions.
Providing commercial and sourcing guidance on supplier evaluations, complex proposals, negotiations, and supplier selection, while ensuring cost, capability, capacity, quality, lead time, and supply risk are considered.
Identifying and driving opportunities for cost reduction, cost avoidance, localization, supplier diversification, dual sourcing, and supply risk mitigation across the portfolio.
Removing barriers and serving as an escalation point for complex supplier, commercial, and cross-functional issues, engaging supplier or internal leadership when needed.
Coaching and developing Sourcing Specialists while communicating portfolio performance, key risks, opportunities, and decisions requiring leadership attention.

Skills You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
8–10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or a related complex manufacturing environment, with strong Direct Materials sourcing experience.
Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, supplier evaluation and selection, commercial negotiation, and sourcing governance.
Experience coordinating and prioritizing multiple sourcing initiatives based on business needs, cost opportunity, complexity, and supply risk.
Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders, manage competing priorities, remove barriers, and drive resolution of escalations.
Strong commercial and analytical skills, including supplier negotiations, quotation and cost analysis, business cases, and total cost of ownership.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers, including machining, fabrication, and electromechanical assembly.
Experience supporting supplier transitions, qualification, cost reduction, localization, dual sourcing, and supply risk mitigation initiatives.
Strong judgment, coaching, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to guide sourcing decisions and support Sourcing Specialists.
Experience working with global suppliers and teams, ERP/PLM and project management tools, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and travel up to 30% as needed.

Preferred Skills:

Master’s Degree or MBA
Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certification or experience.
Professional certification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Sourcing, or Project Management.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Ability to work remotely with flexibility to accommodate meetings across global time zones.
Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time.
Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 15 pounds.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for 40% of the time.
Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
Must be able to exchange accurate information.
Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Operates in a professional office and/or manufacturing environment.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
Noise level in the work environment is usually average.
