The role offers a chance to join Wood Mackenzie’s highly respected Power and Renewables (P&R) Research team, focusing on South Asia power market analysis and modelling. Our P&R team is known for producing market-leading research, delivering integrated, in-depth power curves and market outlooks. We conduct thorough analysis and collaborate across disciplines, combining extensive data with deep knowledge of conventional fuels and renewable supply chains.
Our models provide valuable insights into the price impacts of policy, economics, and supply chains, offering clear scenario outlooks that help users align with their business risk criteria. The Role
We are seeking a Research Analyst to join our team in Gurugram, India. The successful candidate will support the regional Power & Renewables team through market research, policy and regulatory analysis, power market modelling, insights creation, and client support for India and other South Asian power markets.
As a Research Analyst, you will build a deep understanding of power market dynamics across India and South Asia and contribute across five core areas: conducting market research to track supply, demand, and investment trends; analyzing the policy and regulatory landscape and its impact on market outcomes; running and maintaining our regional power market models to produce technology and price outlooks; translating model outputs and market intelligence into clear, actionable insights for our research reports; and supporting client engagements by responding to queries and presenting findings to clients and industry stakeholders. You will collaborate with a global team of power and renewables experts, work on cutting-edge topics such as battery storage and curtailment forecasting and stay current on market developments to keep our modelling and research at the leading edge.
This role also offers opportunities to build and maintain relationships with clients and industry experts.
