Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced MERN Stack Engineer with strong expertise in Node.js backend development and hands-on experience building scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications. The ideal candidate should be proficient in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js, with a solid understanding of application architecture, database design, cloud deployment, and modern development practices.

The candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills , the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and the confidence to explain technical concepts, discuss solutions, and contribute to technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.

Build robust RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js and frameworks such as Express.js, Koa.js, or similar.

Develop responsive and user-friendly frontend applications using React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.

Design efficient database schemas and optimize queries across MongoDB and SQL databases.

Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT, OAuth, and role-based access control.

Understand and apply asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, error handling, and performance optimization techniques.

Design applications with scalability, maintainability, security, and reliability in mind.

Integrate third-party APIs, external services, and multiple data sources.

Deploy and manage applications using AWS services and implement CI/CD pipelines.

Apply DevOps practices using Docker, Kubernetes, and related deployment tools where applicable.

Conduct code reviews, write maintainable code, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.

Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Communicate technical updates, implementation approaches, risks, and dependencies clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

5–8 years of professional experience in software development, with strong expertise in Node.js and backend engineering.

Hands-on experience with the MERN stack: MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.

Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and a good understanding of modern JavaScript features.

Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, Promises, async/await, event loops, and error handling.

Experience developing RESTful APIs, backend services, and integrations with third-party systems.

Good knowledge of MongoDB, database schema design, indexing, query optimization, and familiarity with SQL databases.

Experience with React.js, component-based architecture, state management, and responsive UI development.

Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.

Knowledge of application architecture, design patterns, scalability, and performance optimization.

Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms for application deployment and hosting.

Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and frontend styling approaches such as SASS.

Knowledge of testing practices, debugging, and code quality tools.

Communication and Collaboration Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to explain technical concepts and architectural decisions clearly.

Confidence in participating in client discussions, requirement-gathering sessions, and technical meetings.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaborative skills.

Ability to take ownership of deliverables, provide timely updates, and work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with TypeScript and modern frontend development practices.

Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.

Experience with microservices, event-driven systems, caching, and message queues.

Exposure to application monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
