Pratt and Whitney’s Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) organization is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Engineer II – Structural Engineering. The position requires an engineer with extraordinary customer focus, strong technical acumen, outstanding critical thinking ability, and crisp communication skills to execute projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure successful execution of projects using Engineering Standard Work (ESW).
Perform state-of-the-art ANSYS Finite Element Analysis for stress, vibration, determination of low cycle fatigue life and residual life (fracture mechanics) prediction.
Ability to write clear substantiation documentation, as well as to create and provide impactful, persuasive technical presentations to internal and external customers.
Drive execution efficiency on project commitments with high technical quality
Support planning and manage the technical tasks and milestones
Collaborate with project, discipline stakeholders to resolve key structural problems
Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy. Develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and as a team contributor.
Contribute to PW IEC and Global structural engineering discipline forums

Basic Qualifications:

B.Tech/B.E in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 3-8 years prior relevant engineering experience or M.Tech/M.E in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 1-6 years prior relevant engineering experience
Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share knowledge with others
Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components
Results focus and the ability to drive tasks to completion through disciplined execution

Preferred Qualifications:

Structural analysis experience on compressor hardware, especially Rotors, casings and kinematics
Strong technical skills in structural engineering tools & methods
Experience in the development of gas turbine engine compressor hardware
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative
A passion for professional development
