We are seeking an analytically rigorous and financially astute Director Procurement Analytics to bridge the gap between strategic sourcing, advanced accounting, and corporate finance. In this role, you will be responsible for building advanced financial models, driving budget alignment, evaluating supplier proposals, and ensuring proper accounting treatment across all procurement activities.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge in corporate cost accounting (standard costing, PPV, GR/IR accruals, ASC 842/IFRS 16 lease evaluations) combined with strong commercial acumen to optimize the cash conversion cycle and maximize return on capital.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modeling, Budgeting & FP&A Integration

Work closely with Finance and business leaders to allocate budgets across categories, departments, and strategic initiatives, aligning funding with business priorities and anticipated demand.
Develop and maintain total cost of ownership (TCO) models that capture acquisition, implementation, integration, licensing, support, maintenance, and end-of-life costs.
Use TCO models and scenario analysis to compare supplier proposals, evaluate sourcing alternatives, and recommend budget allocations based on long-term financial impact.
Partner with FP&A to incorporate sourcing decisions, contractual commitments, and validated savings into annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
Build discounted cash flow (DCF) and Net Present Value (NPV) analyses for complex, multi-year contracts incorporating WACC, FX adjustments, and indexation clauses.

Advanced Procurement Accounting & Cost Control

Manage and reconcile purchase-to-pay (P2P) financial activities, including month-end Goods Receipt / Invoice Receipt (GR/IR) clearing accounts and unbilled accrual tracking.
Evaluate supplier proposals and contracts for capital expenditure (CapEx) versus operational expenditure (OpEx) classification under ASC 842 / IFRS 16 lease accounting standards.
Conduct detailed standard cost variance analysis, separating Purchase Price Variance (PPV) from volume, yield, and freight variances.
Partner with Accounts Payable to ensure matching principles are maintained across milestone billings, prepayments, retainers, and deferred expenses.
Audit supplier cost structures using activity-based costing (ABC) and "should-cost" breakdown models.

Working Capital Optimization & Supplier Risk Management

Optimize the Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC) by analyzing Days Payable Outstanding (DPO), evaluating extended terms (e.g., Net 30 vs. Net 90), and assessing dynamic discounting or supply chain finance programs.
Perform financial viability assessments and ratio analyses (e.g., Altman Z-score, Quick Ratio, Debt-to-Equity) on key and sole-source suppliers to mitigate counterparty financial risk.
Support post-sourcing spend audits to identify invoice discrepancies, leakage, and non-compliance with contract pricing terms.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (required).
Master’s Degree (MBA/MS) or relevant professional certifications ( CPA, CMA, CFA, or CPSM ) strongly preferred.

Professional Experience

4–7+ years of progressive experience in procurement financial analysis, corporate financial planning & analysis (FP&A), commercial finance, or cost accounting.
Proven experience developing multi-variable TCO and financial evaluation models for high-value sourcing initiatives.
Hands-on experience with month-end financial closing, accruals, and standard costing within an enterprise ERP environment.

Technical & Analytical Skills

ERP & Systems: Hands-on proficiency with tier-one ERPs (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle ERP Cloud, Coupa, Workday).
Modeling & Data: Advanced Microsoft Excel/financial modeling skills (scenario analysis, DCF/NPV, data tables). Experience with business intelligence platforms (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
Accounting Standards: Solid working knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS, specifically regarding revenue/expense matching, inventory valuation, and lease accounting (ASC 842 / IFRS 16).

Soft Skills

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence both operational budget owners and executive leadership.
Exceptional negotiation-support acumen with the ability to translate complex accounting metrics into actionable sourcing strategies.
